Ensure that you have RegisterGlobals switched ON in the php.ini file.

I am from Mumbai, I am just about to finish my Masters in E-Commerce here
in London.

Been a part time web developer (used to work only in
ASP) before turning student again.

Took up PHP seriously just 2
months before coming to the UK by picking up a book called "PHP 5.1
for Beginners" co-authored by a certain Sharanam Shah from the British Library. It turned out to be the best use of time I had, having stopped looking
after our shop to prepare for admissions and visa, etc.

By the time
I finished using the book I was good enough to do more in PHP than
whatever I could do in ASP, which was a shock really as I was looking
forward to studying a module on PHP here. So I skipped the module on
PHP, and was scared off the module on Java by my Course Leader, for which

I am trying to learn PHP, I have so far installed WAMP and am reading a PHP
for Beginners written by Sharanam Shah. Its a pretty rocking book for everyone from complete noobs to programming to those who have some C
or C++ knowledge (like me). I will definitely recommend this book
to anyone wanting to learn PHP.
